Favorite Book?

What is my favorite book? What makes a book my favorite book? For a long time I said Chosen by a Horse by Susan Richards was my favorite book. Then it changed to The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I love both of these books for various reasons, but I think my favorite book would have to be Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. Do I think it’s the best book ever? Maybe not. What makes it my favorite though?

Boo Boo, Horse Life

Dear Boo Boo

Wow! It’s been ten years since I first rode you. That’s crazy! It seems like forever ago. We’ve done so much together. I love and trust you so much. So much has happened, yet I still remember parts of our first ride.

2018 in Pictures

So Amanda at The $900 Facebook Pony wrote a post a couple of weeks ago summing up her 2018 in pictures that fall into different categories. I love this idea so much! She encouraged others to join in, so here’s my post!

Ponying the Pony

Tuesday was such a beautiful day that I couldn’t stay in the cold, windy round pen when the sun was out and shining. I was by myself and wanted to make sure Trinity got a walk to stretch her legs out of the mud and Boo got worked, so I decided to do what I have been thinking about trying — ponying Trinity.

Story Time: Gizmo

Gizmo is my first favorite horse. I’m not completely sure why. She was an Appaloosa (“Dalmatian horse” as I used to call them). She was blind in one eye and half blind in the other as I was told. She had spirit and wasn’t always very nice. She was more of an extrovert, I think, at least I know I never needed a crop with her.

I am an Equestrian

I am an equestrian. I work my butt off at the barn to let my horses have a clean place to live. I have feed up to forty horses at once, cleaned stalls, picked up poop in the arenas, fixed fences, carried water buckets, stacked hay, carried 50 pound bags of feed, cleaned brushes, cleaned tack, cared for wounds, bathed and groomed horses, and help educate new riders.

Horse Life

Story Time: It all began with a Story…

Ponies! I thought as the bus passed a field of horses. I was riding the bus for the first time on my way to kindergarten. From that day on I picked my seat on the bus based on which side would pass closer to that field. Horses have always been my favorite animals. I always wanted to ride horses and at one festival my mom let me go on a pony ride, twice. There were two horses at the pony ride. I rode the shorter one the first time, but then I wanted to ride the taller one. I became too scared before getting on, so I rode the shorter one again.
